How does Really Simple SSL work?

• Het zal eerst controleren of er een bestaand SSL certificaat is. Als je er geen hebt, kun je er een genereren in de plugin. Afhankelijk van je hosting provider kan de plugin het ook voor je installeren of helpen met instructies.
• The plugin handles most issues WordPress has with SSL. For example, a reverse proxy/load balancer or when no headers are passed to detect SSL.
• Alle inkomende aanvragen worden omgeleid naar HTTPS. Standaard met een interne WordPress redirect, maar je kunt ook kiezen voor een .htaccess redirect.
• The site URL and home URL are changed to HTTPS.
• Je onveilige inhoud wordt hersteld door alle http:// URL’s te vervangen door https://, behalve hyperlinks naar andere domeinen. Dit gebeurt dynamisch, dus er worden geen veranderingen in de database aangebracht (behalve in de site URL en home URL).
• Met PHP ingestelde cookies worden veilig gezet door ze in te stellen met de httpOnly vlag.
